SILBRO, Inc. - Driver Improvement Clinic was established in 2010 with one fundamental objective in mind, to make a positive difference in the safety and well being of Virginia's drivers. In April 2013, the company changed its name to A1 DRIVER to better reflect the service it provides to Virginia's drivers.
Licensed as a Driver Improvement Clinic by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), the firm offers two modes of training: Instructor Led Clinics and Online/Web based training. Clinics are offered at eight facilities in southwest, central and south-side Virginia, with additional locations planned in 2013.
A1 DRIVER has licensed and adopted the National Safety Council's 'best in class' training materials to teach defensive driving techniques. Our staff and trainers believe the training you receive through the National Safety Council's curriculum leads to increased driver safety, both for you, and for those around you; regardless of whether you attend the clinic voluntarily, by court order, or as a result of a DMV requirement.
Statistics show repeatedly, that the number 1 cause of unsafe driving behavior that contributes to collisions and violations, is improper speed (National Safety Council, 2011). At A1 DRIVER we are convinced the safety of Virginia's drivers can be improved upon through the application of defensive driving techniques; as our Certified Instructor states "the best offense (when driving), is to apply a good defense".
